1.1 Welcome to Social Shift! These Terms of Service explain how we work together when you use our website or book any deliveries with us.
1.2 In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" means Social Shift (socialshift.uk). "You" and "your" means you, the person or business booking with us.
1.3 By using our website or placing a booking with us, you agree to these Terms. When you complete a booking or quote request, an account will be created for you automatically.
1.4 We may update these Terms occasionally. If we make any big changes, we’ll let you know. Continuing to use our services after that means you accept the updated Terms.

To keep things clear, here’s what some important words mean in these Terms:
"We", "us" and "our" – Social Shift (socialshift.uk), your local bike courier service.
"You" and "your" – You, our customer who is booking or using our services.
"Delivery" or "Job" – The collection and delivery service we provide using our cycle couriers.
"Package" or "Parcel" – The item(s) you ask us to collect and deliver.
"Rider" – Our friendly cycle courier who carries out the delivery.
"Marketplace Collection" – Jobs where we collect an item from a private seller (e.g. Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree) on your behalf.
"Business Day" – Monday to Saturday, excluding bank holidays.
3.1 Social Shift is a local, zero-emission cycle courier service based in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. We do same-day deliveries using bikes instead of vans.
3.2 We offer the following main services:
Standard parcel collections and deliveries (documents, small to medium packages, gifts, etc.)
Marketplace Collections (e.g. Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree) – we collect the item from the seller, check it matches the description, and deliver it to you.
Shop & Pharmacy Collections – we pick up items from local shops on your behalf
Business deliveries (contracts, samples, high-value items, office supplies, etc.)
Other custom requests that fit on a bike
3.3 Our main delivery area is Calderdale (HX postcodes)and delivery to nearby areas (parts of BD, HD, LS) but this may cost extra.
3.4 Same-day delivery is our standard service. If you book early enough on a Business Day, we’ll aim to deliver that day, usually by 8pm. Bookings made later in the day will normally roll over to the next Business Day. Our booking form will show you the expected delivery day before you confirm.
4.1 You can get an instant quote and book most deliveries directly through our website. Some larger or more complex jobs may need us to check availability first.
4.2 When you place a booking, we’ll create an account for you automatically so you can track your delivery.
4.3 All prices shown include VAT. You’ll see the full price before you pay.
4.4 We accept the following payment methods:
Credit or debit card at the time of booking (preferred)
Cash on delivery (available for certain services only, such as business, retail, and Marketplace collections)
Card on delivery (where available)
4.5 Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll assign a Rider and send you tracking details.
